COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Caring Connections
The following programs are available to assist women over 16 years of age who are pregnant, or parenting a child under the age of 6 years. Women who meet these eligibility criteria must reside within the Erie St. Clair LHIN (Windsor-Essex, Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent. All services are offered free of charge.).
- Parenting in Recovery – A facilitated psycho-educational group to support moms who are newly balancing the challenges of parenting and recovery
- Childcare Program – Child minding services are available so moms can attend their counseling and group sessions without having to worry about arranging childcare.
- Counselling Services – One-on-one counseling sessions are available to assist women in resolving issues related to their recovery from substance misuse and dependency. These services may be provided on a continual basis for up to one (1) full year.
- Mom’s for Recovery – A facilitated/self help support group that meets weekly where moms can share their challenges and successes with each other.
Substance Misuse Interventions for Women
The following programs are available to assist women with substance misuse or dependency, their children and friends & families. Services are available to service residents of Windsor-Essex County with locations in Windsor, Town of Essex and Amherstburg. All services are offered free of charge. Crisis hotline and drop-in counseling times available for residents experiencing a crisis related to a women’s substance misuse.
- Crisis Counselling – Crisis hotline and drop-in counseling times are available for residents experiencing a crisis related to a women’s substance misuse.
- Brief Intervention – Up to two scheduled counseling sessions focused on assisting individuals and families to manage/resolve emotional issues related to substance misuse.
- Empower – Groups and activities to assist women over 16 years of age in managing and enhancing their recovery from substance misuse includes auricular (ear) acupuncture, yoga, dance, drumming and art therapy.
- Family & Friends – A facilitated/self help group for friends & family of women who misuse substances.
- Recovery Park – A self help support group that meets weekly where recovering women can share their experience, strength and hope with each other.
